It uses a phase locked motor and so ran significantly faster here, until I switched the capstan. My cassette deck was unaffected. I also have a PAL tv set, ( monitor for my atari ) which will display US tv broadcasts in black and white. I suspect that you can leave your monitor here if you can get access to one in england.
