Last year I was given a lot of very good advice on PAL to NTSC conversion 
from this notes group. In the same area :

Who makes a good multi-format (PAL, NTSC, ...) VCR and monitor?
Preferably Beta. Is anyone out there using one of these?

(When I asked this in a NYC store they thought that I wanted to play Beta
and VHS on the same machine!)
