These figures originally came from the canadian shoe manufacturers association. They also say tariffs account for less than $.01 per person per day (in Canada). Given the cost and the number of jobs in question (16000) and that I would pay at least some of this money in increased taxes (if the tariff was removed) I don't find this particularily significant compared to a lot of other issues that are available to worry about (that's only my opinion though).
