I would appreciate any pointer to literature (books, articles, papers, etc)
about the implementation of OCR (optical character recognition).  I am 
interested in both basic beginner as well as current, state-of-the-art
material.  My needs are primarily in the software side rather than the mechanics
of the scanner.  Thank you.
