The Grado I own is one of the bottom of the lines, a real bargain, but the "better" Grados may not necessarily be such a bargain. Look and listen around first. Your point about the U shaped curve is well stated, but I am a heavy jazz listener and after a long time listening to the Grado and being what I thought was satisfied, a switch to a different cartridge made a noticable improvment. After which, I found the Grado edgy. As I pointed out, this is all in the ear of the beholder (and the response of the speakers) -Tony
