Before I actually purchase this deck I would like to have a few questions answered and would appreciate any help that you can give me. The deck that I want to buy is either the BX-150 (someone told me that deck is no longer in production and its equivilent is the BX-125), or the BX-300. I would like to build a stereo system that I can keep, and enjoy for many years to come; because of this price is not nearly as important as quality. Right now I would like to be able to make high quality dubbs from LPs and eventaully CDs, the primary use of the tapes will be in my car, and at home. Now for my questions. Is Nakamichi really all that good (I tried to locate reviews of the BX-300 and BX-150,but could not find any)? Are there other brands that preform as well or better? How much more/less do the cost? Finally can someone suggest a good book or magazine to read so that I will be able to KNOW what I am getting into (something that explains if I can hear .029% THD, etc. )? Thank you for any help.
