Having owned a number of fairly high quality headphones
I feel that the best buy I have ever seen were the Audio Technica
ATH-7 electret condenser headphones. They compare favorably to any
Stax model except the Lambda or Lambda pro. The nice part is you can get them wholesale
for about 75.00 dollars and they are more comfortable (on my head anyway than the Stax
headphones. I have compared them to the Stax SRX-3/SRD-7 combination and the results
were inconclusive because the two headphones were so good.
