He really loved it, and I would have to agree with him. It would outperform all but the *most* expensive Harman Kardon decks. At that time it was well situated price wise against the competitors. (~$500 vs ~$900) I made many tapes on this deck and am happy with all of them. I use them for 'stereo shopping' and the salesmen always want to know where I got the tape. When I say Nakamichi, they retreat to the backroom where they all live....
