Hmm.. I'm looking for a turntable/cartridge to replace my 7 year old cheap BIC record lathe. Both the "respectable" shops in town want to sell me a B&O RX radial arm turntable. My (arbitrary) price range is 0 - $250 for the turntable/cartridge combo. Can I expect to get reasonably good sound from a $250 setup? The B&O *seemed* good to me, but considering to the system I've been listening on, I'm not sure I trust my judgement yet. What other turntables should I be looking at? How do people feel about the Technics "close-and-plays"?
