I have an 82 Pontiac 6000, V-6. Recently it's started to act in a bizzare
manner. It refuses to downshift to 1st gear. Putting it into neutral, and
then into Drive forces it to start off in 1st, and it has no problems shifting
up, but it will not go back down to 1st when I stop the car. Needless to
say, this makes quick start-ups from standing still in 2nd *very* sluggish.
Before I get it into a transmission shop, any suggestions from anyone?
