There are only four active components in the system: the battery, voltage regulator, (both new) starter, (works O.K. when the battery has a charge) and the generator. But you shouldn't limit your troubleshooting to just the active components, especially on a 22 year old car that's spent some time in New England. The problem is just as likely to be a corroded connection or bad wire as anything else. Keep in mind that tracking down bad wires and corroded terminals is a time-consuming process- this is why it's never high on a dealer's priority list. Good luck.
