Here you *MUST* follow the manufacturers recommendations. I have
two cars by Porsche, one requires the valves be set on a stone
cold motor, the other requires the motor be warm, with the oil at
80C to set the valves. I don't know what your MG requires, but it
makes a *big* difference wether it's hot or cold.
