I think the term you mean is Imperial units, The English have been using
metric units for many years, i.e. (Litres, Kilogram and degrees Centigrade).

I hope in your conversion table you include both the Imperial pint and the
US pint and how they relate to the US cup and spoon. 
Blame the fluid ounce. -)
