Add eggs [one at a time], beating til incorporated. Add vanilla. [at this point, I add the chips and nuts, because it's too hard later!] Add chips and nuts, mixing well. Mix together dry ingredients [I leave out the salt in the recipe, just because I prefer it that way]. Add to the butter/sugar mixture a cup at a time, mix thoroughly [Use a _big_ bowl]. Put golfball size scoops onto an ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 400 F. for 8-12 min (lightly browned).
