We picked the apples and threw them into an antique screw-press, cranked it down to SQUEEZE the apples, and strained the pulp, et.al. Freezing the cider created fast Apple Jack -- but I was too young to enjoy. The 'virgin' stuff, however, lives on in memory -- nothing I've tasted compares.
