I don't think the entire collection as a book can be traced back much beyond 1600 years. Books around longer than that include the Iliad, Hesiod's Theogeny, Gilgamesh, Enuma Elish (Marduk's saga), the Tanak (aka Old Testament), and LOTS of others.
