For those of you not residing in North Carolina, I have some news 
that's pretty hard to swallow: 
Pornography is a FELONY in the tar-heel state. The law is so sweeping 
in its wording that it is a felony to sell or produce materials
that depict teenagers touching one another on clothed buttocks.
That's right. If you sell a book with a picture of two high-schoolers
embracing with one of the teen's hands straying into the NO-GO ZONE,
YOU ARE A FELON.

Various bookstore owners have attempted to have this blatantly
unconstitutional law struck from the books, or at least suspended
pending further debate, but to no avail. The forces of pseudo-moral
right wing fascism have dug their heels in with no signs of relenting.

A couple of years ago I would have laughed in the face of anyone
suggesting this was possible. But nowadays with certain forms of
religion (E.G., Satanism and Occult Worship) outwardly discriminated
against, and rock music (never country music or Opera, etc...)
on the verge of being censored, anything is possible. While I don't give
a d*mn about pornography or satanism, I do give a d*mn about censorship.

This is no longer a topic of blithe speculation on electronic bulletin
boards. IT IS HAPPENING HERE AND NOW. Don't assuage yourself with thoughts
of North Carolina's reactionary nature, we are not atypical of the rest 
of America. My senators (no names, to protect the innocent) are your
senators too.
