A Higher Power can be God, Luck, Instinct, ESP, or even "Tapping the
Subconscious Mind".  These things are played down by Secular Humanists.

You've never had a success as a result of "being lucky"?
You've never just had a "bad break"?
You've never just "played a hunch"?
You don't believe in "Murphy's Law"? (who's defence system are you building?)

It is precisely because people do jump off bridges, drive drunk and stoned,
attempt and sometime succeed at suicide, and go insane in various other
ways that BOTH psychological AND spritual principles need to be recognized
by Secular Humanists.

Children have "instinct", "perception", and "insight".  These are neglected
by the schools in preferrence to "Intellect", "Competitive Spirit", "Win
at All Costs", and "Agressiveness".  They are taught to rely on "Logic"
in an "Illogical World".

In fact, these "children" are just that.  They have grown up selfish,
angry, fearful and dissappointed.  They follow leaders who are selfish,
angry, fearful and dissappointed.

Unfortunately, many Athiests and Agnostics have also been exposed to people
who claim to have "Gods Authority" when in fact, they were selfish, angry,
fearful, and dissappointed.
