I ask you, who is being insensitive? What he wants, I think, is not to be accosted by what others call music. He probably doesn't care if you listen to the stuff, as long as you don't force him to. I agree with him; fortunately for me, the people where I work who like to play radios (or walkthings at such a volume that I, sitting across the room, can identify what they're listening to.... dunno how their ears can take it...) have started to get reasonable, but at one point it was pretty unbearable and it was a situation I was forced into (I couldn't take the lisp machine and go home). I don't think the people who would impose that on others are being particularly reasonable. >If I'm playing it too loud for you I will >turn it down or use headphones. Unfortnately, too many addicts insist that headphones are not a reasonable compromise. All things considered, headphones solve the problem nicely. (Yes, I use a walkthing at work and no, I don't see the problem with headphones. I also use a volume setting of 2-3 on a 10 point scale, though....) -Dragon -- UUCP: ...ucbvax!dual!lll-crg!dragon ARPA: monica.cellio@cmu-cs-cad or dragon@lll-crg
