On the subject of strange weapons, this is a situation that
actually happened.

A party was coming back from a terrible journey from Mostal's
Graveyard out in the Tunneled Hills in the Genert Wastes.
Three scorpion men ambushed the party of 4.  One of the characters
was a Storm Bull berserker and he cast Berserker upon himself
just as the scorpion man hit his right arm and broke it.  With
no other weapon available, he started bashing the scorpion man
with his shield and proceeded to save the whole party by bashing
them all on the head, knocking them out!
