I can't say if the JANET internal address is any good any more because I believe that they have been doing a lot of work on their system. Also, I just ran across the following message in fa.bboard =========================================================================== From cornell!vax135!houxm!mhuxt!mhuxr!ulysses!cbosgd!ucbvax!ucl-cs.arpa!Bundy%edxa Sun Oct 13 19:36:12 EDT 1985 Path: lasspvax!cornell!vax135!houxm!mhuxt!mhuxr!ulysses!cbosgd!ucbvax!ucl-cs.arpa!Bundy%edxa >From: Bundy%edxa@UCL-CS.ARPA (BUNDY HPS, on ERCC DEC-10) Subject: Edinburgh Net Address Changes Message-ID: <132376-254-464@EDXA> -------- EDXA, the Edinburgh DEC10, is dieing, and will be gone by the end of September. The users are scattering to a variety of other machines. To simplify the net address changes all mail to Edinburgh users can be sent via the new UK JANet logical site, UK.AC.EDINBURGH, where it will be locally redirected. This new addressing mechanism is in use now and you should start using it immediately. The default translation is: x%EDXA@UCL-CS.ARPA => x%UK.AC.EDINBURGH@UCL-CS.ARPA x@EDINBURGH.UK.AC may also work at some ARPANet sites. -------- =========================================================================== -- Todd Olson ARPA: olson@lasspvax -- or -- olson%lasspvax.tn.cornell.edu@cu-arpa UUCP: {ihnp4,allegra,...}!cornell!lasspvax!olson US Mail: Dept Physics, Clark Hall, Cornell University, Ithaca, New York 14853-2501
