They are taking orders. As of 10/5, the list of 100% prepaid back-ordered buyers is 22. They estimate 2 weeks delivery. An associate of mine here is on the list. I think I'll let him do the trail-blazing! Especially after hearing the 20-second program load time as compared to 8 or so for floppy-based IBMs and about 2-3 for winnies. This is a real discouraging thing to hear. Could it be sloppy O/S code and/or inattention to disk format and interleaving factors? One reason the IBM is so fast is that the MS-DOS disk drivers support multi-sector read/write calls to avoid losing a revolution on the disk. How does AmigaDOS compare?
