Message-ID: <7800003@mirror.UUCP> Date: Tue, 22-Oct-85 16:40:00 EDT Article-I.D.: mirror.7800003 Posted: Tue Oct 22 16:40:00 1985 Date-Received: Fri, 25-Oct-85 04:08:24 EDT Lines: 24 Nf-ID: #N:mirror:7800003:000:1089 Nf-From: mirror!jib Oct 22 16:40:00 1985 I'm writing this question for a friend with an Apple IIe who is not on the network: He has an Apple IIe with 128K Ram, a Grappler Plus interface (w/ 16K buffer) and an Okidata 92 printer. He is having trouble using his system with Appleworks. Specifically, he cannot configure Appleworks properly for his printer/interface combination. He wants to set the Okidata to Correspondence Quality mode, but Appleworks prints 80N on both the screen and paper whenever he tries to print. It sounds (to me) like Appleworks is sending an initialize command to the Grappler card thinking that it is an Apple parallel printer interface card. Does anyone have experience with using Appleworks with a Grappler card? (He is using Appleworks version 1.0). Any assistance would be appreciated. Please send responses to me by Unix-mail or post to the net. Thanks. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jim Block {cca, ihnp4!inmet, mit-eddie, wjh12, datacube} !mirror!prism!jib Mirror Systems, Inc. 2067 Massachusetts Ave. (617) 661-0777 Cambridge, MA 02140
