I distinctly remember laughing (or was it groaning) when I watched _Zelig_. On the grounds that it was supposed to be a comedy this is at least testimonial evidence that it achieved some of its purpose. Besides, the 1920's look of the film was pretty well done --for a farce that is. In terms of spoofing the rash of movie biographies that have appeared in recent years I think _Zelig_ did a commendable job.
