I very strongly suspect that you are talking aoub a film called MUTINY IN OUTER SPACE (1965), which indeed has a mutiny, but it more deals with a space station that has picked up a fungus from the moon. It thrives on the space station and before long it is all over everything, clogging things up. There is the obvious question of whether anyone can return to Earth and risk letting the thing loose there.
