At least no flaming has started here. I personally think that by the time a person is ready to flame to the group, the offending piece of equipment has already flown out the window! I realize that a lot of the readers here have used the DX/TX series of synthds from Yamaha, while others use DC Analog (such as the Korgs) or the DC Samplers (such as the Mirage). After listening to both types of synths (and actually using them for a while) I can state that they both have there uses and their niches in the SynthWorld. I will reserve judgement on which was better for what since I have been sampling the DX-7's best patches on the Mirage. The only bug is that I need the Advanced Sampler's Guide for the Mirage in order to alleviate a few of the problems I find floating around my transient studio. It has been exasperating for both me and the music store that I bought my Mirage from since I have been waiting for a long time for my copy of the Guide, so... On to the request... I would like to hear from ANYBODY who has seen a copy of the Advanced Sampler's Guide for the Ensinoq Mirage. I have been looking for it a long time, and am getting desperate. I would be much into someone's debt if they could send me a Xerox of it(I know it cuts ensoniq out of their bucks, but since I already spent my 50$, then it is not illegal, and will hold me over until my copy arrives). On to other things. I talked with Rich Rosen last week and demo'd the Mirage over the phone for him(OK, its not the same as the real thing, but its memorex :-) since he was asking about it compared to the possible vaporware Prophet sampler. So in order to save everybody's hassles, I would like to hear from all people on the net who own or use Mirages so that I can see the scope of the problem of passing patches around, software to drive the mirage, etc... Please send the address and phones and comments to: {ihnp4!inmet|{harvard|cca}!ima}!pbear!mirage (The '{' and '}' in the above address specify the scope of disjoint parameters seperated by '|'), i.e {harvard|cca} specifies either 'harvard' or 'cca'. Thanx all!!! Peter Barada {ihnp4!inmet|{harvard|cca}!ima}!pbear!peterb Ps - One real nice thing about the Mirage and it's percussion disk is that when combine with the Roland TR-707 (or any other rythym box that can drive MIDI) is that the simmon set comes alive and is real good to lay down on a track!
