Time to eat some of my words.  Cooler heads than mine have informed me
of the phone rates in Nicaragua, which are indeed astronomical when paid
in co'rdobas...what you have to do to receive reasonable rates like $10
per minute is to call the US collect, so that valuable foreign exchange
does not leave the county in the form of phone bills.
