View, CA Lines: 17 10/13 Areas: South Lake, Mammoth Mtn, Tioga Pass Yosemite snow level, patches begin at 8,000 feet. Mammoth is covered with a light dusting down 2/3s the way from the top. Tioga pass has snow patches varying from 4-12 inches. There are many open spots. This layer appears to be consolidating into a base. X-C wax would probably be a red or purple stick. Air is dry and crisp (cool) when it is not snowing. Weather: a weak front moved thru saturday evening with rime deposited on trees but no significant new snow. I would guess Tioga will be closed in two weeks if current weather trends continue.
