For whatever it's worth, there was a case at a girls school in Minn that
a girl had a mental breakdown on Shabos.  The Rov not only authorized two
other students to go with her to the hospital (in a police car - the ill
girl refused to go alone), but since the hospital was not in walking distance
and was not in a good neighborhood, he also authorized them to ride back
from the hospital (again with the police).
