Well, it wasn't a job, but grad school is almost the same thing.
I moved from CA to IL for that purpose.  She followed a few months
later.  (Her idea, not mine.)  It lasted a while.  Then she married
the guy in the next office.

I knew somebody from here who moved to CA for a job and professed
to be glad to get away from her boyfriend.  He followed.  Now they
are married (to each other).

Beats me.  It's all part of this crazy show, I guess.
