Can someone tell me what the rule > really says? You are right, but the umpires have the ability to waive that rule under certain weather condition (e.g. Toronto in October). I suppose it would delay the game a fair amount if you forced the pitchers to leave the mound when they need to warm their hands. Jack Wisowaty
