Larry Bird-- It is true the Celtics drafted Bird after his junior year a gamble that has obviously paid off, but, what if they didn't sign him by the next draft? They would have lost a first round draft choice. Kevin McHale- Another choice that has obviously paid off but he was a relative unknown until the Aloha Classic. And two teams passing him up is no surprise. I don't remember who went before him. Danny Ainge- Come on now. Ainge is a better than average player on the Celtics but an average player at best on many other teams. Bill Walton- Although this looks like a good trade I must wait and see how it works out. Remember Walton hasn't played a full season for many years. Scott Wedman- Picked up from Cleveland. That is all that needs to be said. Cleveland has not been known for their brilliant trades. Kite, Carlyle etc-- I fail to see any great talent here. Although I do not like the Celtics, I must admit they are a great basketball team. They have made some great trades and draft picks but they have also made their share of mistakes. I don't see many of their picks since Mchale on any teams making any great impact.
