Amazing how many people keep misspelling COMMODORE.

As far as relevance is concerned, perhaps a number of people who are ST 
fans have this idea in the back of their heads that possibly 'this is how 
we'd like to see the future come out', so worrying about all the little 
details is a good way to prepare to actually implement a Star Trek-style 
environment in the 23rd century.

Perhaps I'm being whimsical.
