The truth of the matter is that the Captain was fond of playing Rogue on the
Enterprise's computer.  Since, however, Starfleet brass frowned on officers
using the ship's computers for games, Kirk had to use a pseudonym.  I'm
afraid he didn't select a very good one.  Seeing that name in the computer's
Rogue top 10 would cause anyone, even a god, to assume that was his middle
initial.  I hope that explains it.
