i think such a law would have enormous potential for abuse.  what happens when
it becomes possible for one to make a citizen's arrest?  i mean, one minute i
could be saying to myself "<bonk> i could have had a v8!" and the next a former
friend or a jealous colleague could have me gassed for attempting to kill myself
with a blunt palm.

bad idea!
