I am planning a vacation to Peru in February and March.  My plan is to
arrive in Lima, acquire transportation, and explore in a leisurely,
spontaneous fashion.

To accomplish this, my ideal is to buy a small motorcycle (dirt bike)
there and use that to navigate the supposedly awful roads in Peru.

However, I do not know how feasible this would be.  Is anybody out there
familiar with Peru enough to know 

1) If such a thing is legal (and if that matters a lot)
2) If cycles are to be found for sale there
3) How much a used dirt bike would cost
4) Alternative transportation methods considering that I wish to avoid
	Macchu Picchu and in fact all areas commonly visited

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
