The question that then pops up is why they can't modify TPU so that it would use SMG$ routines for non-ANSII terminals, while using the specially written routines for the ANSII terminals? By the way, I wonder how many people are actually using TPU rather than EDT now (or EMACS!). (P.s. I find it much slower in starting up. One of the few advantages it has over EDT that I find very useful is it's ability to look at a shared open file.)
