                      CALL FOR PAPERS

      Second IEEE Computer Society Workshop on Visual
                         Languages

                       Dallas, Texas

                      June 25-27, 1986






Visual Language:


     1) A  computer  language  with  prominent  visual  com-
ponents, such as icons or computer graphics.


     2) A computer language specifically  designed  for  use
with visual problems, such as image analysis.


     The IEEE/CS Workshop on Visual Languages is designed to
bring  together  computer  professionals  whose research and
development work reflects either of these two definitions of
a  visual language.  Relevant areas of work include computer
graphics,   image   processing,    geographic    information
languages, iconics, videotex, and forms and menu processing,
among others.


     We invite the submission of papers on current  research
and  development  in  visual  languages.  All papers will be
refereed, and those presented in the workshop will  be  pub-
lished in a proceedings.


     Paper length: 3,000 to 6,000 words.


     Submission date: January 2, 1986.


     Number of copies: 3.


     Paper acceptance date: February 14, 1986.


     Final paper due: March 24, 1986.


     Submit manuscripts to:
