people may be interested to note that when Bell Communications Research
Joined CSNET and also got connectivity to the ARPANET, we asked that
our ~23 Class C networks be added to the Core Gateways routing tables.

you can guess the reply we got. hence work underway to convert too a 
class B subnet scheme.
