I am interested in gathering information on the management of LANs.  In
particular, I am interested in  the automated management/control of
LANs.

Information/references/comments pertaining to:

   * LAN management goals and philosophies.
   * LAN management architectures.
   * LAN management protocols.
   * LAN management applications.
   * management of LANs based upon IEEE 802 
     MAC-sublayer standards.
   * potential application of AI techniques to 
     the automated management of LANs.

would be greatly appreciated.  If there is interest I will
summarize responses.
