Someone talked about a "D-50, Mark II". None of the stores around here have heard of it. It sounds like a Japanese model as they call the D-5 the D-50 over there, I've heard. Anyhow, the December issue of ...high fidelity tells all about the D-7. Like a D-5 only much smaller (when you consider the battery pack). In fact, looks about the size of the D-5 when it has its battery pack on. So I broke down and called sony (1-800-222-SONY). They said not released in this country until January. I said, "That's a hell of a time to release a new product." "It SURE is!" the young lady replied. The D-7 is similar to the D-5 but several added features including (HF says) programmability, shuffle play and at least some form of repeat. With battery case included the list price is supposed to be $300 - same list as the D-5. -- "It's the thought, if any, that counts!" Dick Grantges hound!rfg
