The Ford Scorpio (called Granada in England) is not the same as the American Ford Taurus/Mercury Sable. The Taurus/Sable are front wheel drive cars, while the Scorpio is rear wheel drive. They also use different engines, etc. This car was built as a replacement for the Ford Granada (which in no way resembles the Granada that was sold here), and is meant to compete with Various Volvos, Audi 100s(5000s here), BMW 5 series, etc. Now, as a general point of information, a good magazine to keep up with European car models is the British magazine, Car. It's written in English (sort of) and gives good coverage of all European models, though it is somewhat chauvinistic. Makes good reading though-I like it better than most US car mags. BTW, the Ford Scorpio will be imported sometime in the next year or so to be sold by Mercury dealers as another Merkur. -- Dave Fritzinger, Public Health Research Institute, NY,NY {allegra!phri!fritz} "I think.
