I couldn't find the proper breather, so I improvised. My car was a '70, and the earliest breather they had was for model years '72 and beyond. I don't think this was too much of a problem, though, unless crankcase pressures were higher back then. The car runs rough unless I open the air cleaner wing nut a bit. Unfortunately, this is NOT a fix as it eventually starts acting up again. > I have been told, "It's the oil rings." The head has never been off of this > engine. There is no oil being burned. The plugs are clean. The compression > is correct. I don't burn oil, either. I haven't checked the plugs or compression. The head was off the car once already to put in new valves. I don't think it's the rings. I'd be more inclined to believe that there's something clogging the system, and causing oil to evaporate at a higher rate. -- Jonathan D.
