Tell us about your Funk.  Is it the model with the Flathead Ford V8?

I'm interested in auto engine conversions for aircraft.  There was a
Funk model that was CERTIFIED by the CAA with a Ford V8.  I don't know
the model or the year (pre '40?).

I've read of a homebuilder in Fountain Valley, California, who has or
had a Mazda Rotary powered airplane that successfully made it's first
flight several years ago.  Can any netter identify that builder/pilot?
I would like to contact him - all other Mazda converters I've heard of
have never actually flown their creations.
