I guess, living in my sheltered little world, that I just assumed everyone had one. On the other hand, I'm not even sure if "the college on the other side of the river", Carleton College has one. I do know their Fall Term is OVER by Thanksgiving, so they have a somewhat diminished need for a Fall Break. :-) Glad to see a little action on net.college. Last year this news group was a veritable hotbed of activity on the subject of "suicide pills" being handed out to students in the event of a nuclear war. Far from wishing to resurrect that particular topic, maybe we could come up with something controversial, too. How about divestment? Here at St. Olaf, we are attempting to get our Board of Regents to divest all portions of the College's Endowment that are invested in companies with holdings in South Africa. Many students and faculty insist that this be done on moral grounds; how can we, as a Christian institution, continue to support (albeit indirectly) the racist apartheid regime while secular schools have had the moral fortitude to do so? This is not by any means an attempt at any sort of comparison between religious and secular institutions, just one part of the divestment issue for us. What about the rest of net-land?
