For front forks, I suggest purchasing anti-bottoming springs from San Jose BMW in (where else) San Jose CA. These are not a BMW part, but these folks know what they are doing. They help to eliminate the characteristic BMW front-end dive on hard braking. They are cheap and easy to install. Of course, it sounds like your front end needs more help than this. I installed them in my new R65 (I used to have the same bike you have) and they are great.
