TSR's stuff is a *guide*, not THE BIBLE -- if you encounter a DM too hidebound to use a little intelligent judgement on some of the more questionable rules, then quit his campaign -- you'll be miserable because you'll feel he's arbitrary and unfair, and the object of fantasy gaming is to HAVE FUN, not memorize rule books and one-up the rest of the players. If your DM's not open to discussion with the rest of the players on points everyone but him objects to, you've got a little tin god, not a DM. ("he" in the above refers equally to "she", as well. Substitute as appropriate.) -- Christine Robertson {linus, ihnp4, decvax}!utzoo!andor!chris If my boss thought he might be held liable for my opinions, he'd probably laugh himself sick.
