When this was first discovered we were using that Dicomed (not ours, one we have access to) for plotting images of molecules produced with Nelson Max's softare (ATOMSLLL & DNI). When I showed Nelson the pictures, they had black spots in them, which I suggested were probably phosphor burns. He said "oh no, they're just paint flakes that dropped on the crt, we had them on our Dicomed until I blew them away with an air gun."
