There is a switch on the back of the radio which must be set in the transverter position. This switch opens the receive line so you can patch your filter or external antenna to it. I had two pieces of RG-174 coming out of my transverter plug, and had a box which would connect them for normal operation or connect the beverage to the receiver input. I also used to connect a second receiver to the transmit antenna through the box, and also an external attenuator and a preamp. The transverter switch on the TS-820 also opens the screen line to the final amplifier tubes. You have to put a jumper in the plug which reconnects the screens. I don't remember the pinout for the plug, but knowing what it is supposed to do you should be able to figure it out from the schematic. I think the TS-520S also had the same plug and pinout. If you can't get it to work, I will look for the plug, and if I still have it I will let you know how it is wired. Paul Young, K1XM --------
