I haven't seen hardly any of them, but I saw the Butthole Surfers,
and they were...terrible.  A friend of mine threw a Halloween party
at a Hunter College Dorm, and had Scab and Venom play.  Venom
invited the entire lower east side to the party.  They all came
up in the same cab.  Of course, they didn't have any money when
they arrived, having spent it all on the cab ride.  Venom said they
wouldn't play unless the lower east side was admitted for free.
Later an egg throwing contest was organized.  $750 damage.  Good
fun.
